Winter Wonderland

Crazy, I know,  but we did get a HUGE snowstorm here in the 505. It started Friday morning and that was a total mess. I had to drive to work at 6:00 am and the roads were not cleared and the interstates were even worse! Pure ice and you couldn't see the lines. So very scary to feel the car slide and hoping others were being careful not to hit ya. That night the storm really hit and the next morning was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We received 8 inches, 8 inches!! ABQ was shutdown, literally. Most of the snow melted by that evening and then Sunday it was 64 degrees and of course all the snow was gone.

Ty out shoveling our driveway Friday night. He wanted to make sure we could get out in case Goober wanted to debut that night.

His crazy hair after shoveling. He definitely needs a haircut:)

Saturday morning after the storm passed. This is our picnic table.

The dogless dog house and the fence.

Looking out our front window

8 inches total

Our friends were kind enough to let us put some baby items on their baby registry through amazon and we got 15% off. BOOYA! So Saturday was spent inside putting our last items together for the Goob.

Ty hard at work with one of the strollers.

Our 2 strollers, car seat, 2 bases, and the high chair not shown. All of them were pretty darn easy to put together except for the blasted high chair, but we survived.

Getting ready to head out to church, 36 weeks 2 days.

BE PREPARED!

So Ty and I learned a valuable lesson this week....being prepared for this goober to come. Wednesday at work was pretty rough. Just feeling real tired and sore. I was having lots of contractions and my lower back started hurting. The next day I woke up still contracting and just tired. Well the contraction weren't painful at all, just the tightening feeling and maybe a little crampy, so I didn't think much about it. Ty called from work to see how I was feeling and to see if the contractions were still coming. He asked if I had been timing them and when I said no, he told me that I probably should. Well I was contracting every 6 minutes for a minute or longer. I drank lots of water and laid down but they kept coming. After about an hour or so I texted Ty with the results and at first thought I was just kidding:) Talked with my Dr's nurse and she said that I needed to go to the hospital for triage.... awesome.

We are real excited... can ya tell:)

We have been meaning to put together our hospital bags but just haven't gotten to it yet. So as we waited for the doctor and nurse to come into our little room we wrote down items to put into our bags. Truly an eye opener for us:) Well the results are that I do not have a bladder infection, not yet dilated (which hurt like a banshee), and nothing to do yet. We were discharge with the instructions to come back if the contractions started to hurt, any bleeding, water breakage, closer contractions. We are happy the Goober wants to cook a little bit longer.

Pinewood Derby

Well the Pinewood Derby and Blue and Gold Banquet are done, YES! Being Cub Master hasn't been bad at all, just the monthly pack meetings. The big months are January and February with the Derby and banquet. Lucky for me the other wards and another troop wanted to combine and do the Derby on one Saturday. Done! That meant the other troops were setting up and then we had to take everything down. Hands down would do that again.

Tracks ready to go. We had 10 cub scouts racing and then 6 or so siblings.

Found this idea off of Pinterest. Not too shabby. We also had hot chocolate that the other troops had too much of, darn:)

The cub scouts cars. They did a pretty good job. The trophy's are in the back,

I didn't take any pictures of the Banquet. That one I was running around too much. But our theme was camping. Had hot dogs, beans, potato salad, caprisons, and chips. One leader brought his camping gear and set that up around the gym. 3 boys earned their Arrows of Light and we had some older boys from the ABQ area come and present that to them. It was pretty cool. They were dressed up like Indians with long head dresses on with drums. The scouts seemed to like it. Dessert was smores. I had so much help with the other leaders and Ty that everything worked out great!

Now some pics of the Goob:)
People at work say that they don't notice I am prego until I turn to the side. Hmmmm, you can be the judge. Here I am at 32 weeks.

Prego pics and Christmas Joy

So I thought about taking the week by week pics..... ya that was about it, just thought about it.  Sorry to Goober, your momma is not the best at picture taking. Just throwing that out there now.

I remember taking this picture and thinking "Oh man I look so pregnant" and excitedly sent it off to the mom's. Ya. . . I look at it now and think "Oh bless my heart"
16 weeks

20 weeks along

The hat Brynlee Boo left after their visit..... found it weeks and weeks later.

Here we are at the Smith household for Christmas Eve

Christmas Day we spent over at my families and it was great. My brothers were kind enough to let us (Mom, Dad, Andrew, Ty, and I) over to their homes to watch their kiddos open gifts. Man little kids on Christmas is the best:) Later that day we skyped with Ickles in Fiji. He looked good and it was fun talking with him. Only 1 more call and he will be home!

Our fabulous Ladies Night Out. For my mom's birthday, we took her up to SLC for dinner at Zupas, Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, and then a night at the Embassy Suites. It was lots of fun! Walking around City Creek and then games at the room with just ladies. I would love to do it again.

Christmas Eve over at the Nelson's. As you can tell we are a lively bunch:)

Love these photo's. Last night we put together some of Goober's things. Ty was putting the rocker/bassinet together and of course I had to get some photo's. Here's to the new phase of our lives..... holy fire.

And here is the latest of pics...29 weeks along. Here's to only 11 more! Goober is moving lots and lots and lots. I may or may not lift my shirt over my belly and just watch the goob move, just crazy. Anywho, there you go

Deck the halls

Can I tell you how mad I am at myself! Real Mad!!! I totally didn't take any pictures from Thanksgiving......BLAST! Mom, Dad, and Andrew came down and we had a great time. Lots and lots of New Mexican food and most of our tummies paid a price:) Things we did: Tamales from El Modelo, great Thanksgiving meal, Hunger Games 3 with front row seats (oh not so lucky), fishing at Cochiti, Black Friday shopping, setting up Christmas, lots of movies, and plenty of games. So very happy that those 3 were able to come down. And as always..... just sob as they leave. Good thing Christmas is around the corner:)

A BIG HUGE  THANKS to mom for helping to set up our Christmas and for the many trips to Wal-Mart:)

Our little tree downstairs in the family room. Per Ty's request we will be hanging fishing lures on it. We also put some basketball ornaments on it.

Last year at Hobby Lobby I found this garland and scored big on it. I got it in anticipation that we would get our house. SO glad we have it. Anywho so the garland is on the rail between the kitchen and family room.

Our little nativity set. Now just imagine the candles glowing. Got those beauties from Costco like 2.5 years ago, flameless and run on batteries, score!

Our stockings along with more candles. They are so pretty when they glow at night.

Much to my fathers dismass we have only white lights on our tree.....sorry dad. Along with those white lights are silver ornaments and these red berry things that I also got on clearance from Hobby Lobby.

Love me some Christmas

Also in way of news, we had our support beam replaced on the front porch. We knew this needed to be done sooner than later. So glad we did! You can see how rotten the poor thing is. Glad we did it too before the roof came down.

Some guys came and put up a huge metal beam in it's place. The beam had a brown primer on it and we liked the color, so we went to our local Home Depot and got the same color to pain on it so it wouldn't rust. Ty did a super job with his mad painting skills. YAY one more project done on our house..... now how many more?:)

PS- we are so happy that we invested in this ladder.... that is all.

Coming soon!

We are so very excited for this wee one, our little Goober will be joining this Smith family in March. The 1st trimester....hellish. Not fun at all. We became reclusive from friends due to the "all the time" sickness. a) I am married to the greatest man ever. I am oh so blessed to have Ty as mine. He is caring, patient, and always willing and wanting to help. b) What a great job I have landed here in the land of enchantment. My boss and co-workers have been kind and willing to work with me calling in all the time those first 12 weeks. c) Feeling goober move inside my tummy and sweet cheeks feeling the babe kick, LOVE IT!

We were able to see that there was an actual baby growing inside instead of a tapeworm at our last appt. We were wanting to know the gender but we could not get a good enough shot. After talking about it we have decided to be surprised at birth. The best part of this decision...... How upset people are that we are not finding out. It just makes me laugh. I also get a kick out of those who voice their opinion that the gender should be saved till birth. The little things that gets peoples panties in a twist:) Enjoy the pics!

Profile of the Goober

Well we know who the babe gets their look from. This picture looks so much like Ty! They have his nose. Even my mom mentioned that when she first saw this picture.

The bottom of their right foot and a butt cheek.

Side profile with head on the right.

Pics of their arms, right and left

Goober swinging their arm at us to leave 'em alone

Left foot and leg with a faint image of an arm. The poor babe is all squished in there:)
