Bronson Eugene Smith

Oh man we love our Baby Bronson! Crazy to think that on Monday he will already be a month old. Also shows how crazy our lives have been too. Been meaning to post about our little man for weeks now. Better late than never.

The morning of March 23, 2015 was pretty casual at our place. We slept in, took our time getting ready for the day, and then watched a couple episodes of Hotel Amazon. . . Stupid American with impractical ideas. Anywho, I was a bit nervous with the whole fasting thing for the procedure because of my Gestational Diabetes. If I go longer than 2-3 hours my blood sugar drops pretty fast and that is a no good situation. I get very nauseated, dizzy, and want to pass out. I was allowed to eat small breakfast and then nothing after 8:00 and my procedure was scheduled for 4:00. By the time we were heading in at 2:00 for check in I was not feeling good. Wasn't sure if it was my blood sugars or just nerves. Checked and my BS was 68 and dropping. Made Ty drive just a little faster to get to the hospital to get some sugar in me. As soon as we walked into the Labor and Delivery floor I let them know that my BS were low and that I needed something. They grabbed me juice right away and had me drink it. What a quick relief that was! In just a minute felt tons better. After a couple minutes they rechecked my sugars and it was still low so they hooked me up to some good ole D5 glucose drip. I like that stuff:)

Here we are all checked in and ready to go for the c-section. We are pretty excited as you can see.

Ty was so very good and such a great support. I love that man! The hardest thing was when they wheeled me out of the room and Ty had to stay behind while they prepped me for the surgery. Yep tears were shed. It was so nice to have him come in minutes later and to hold my hand. The Spinal Block feels like getting your teeth worked on. Numb but can feel pressure. Weird I know. It was cool knowing what the doctors and others were talking about the procedure as they were cutting in me. I still remember the doctor stating he was cutting into my uterus and then promptly said Mec 1. I didn't like the sound of that. I explained to Ty that our baby was under some kind of stress and had a good ole turd. It only hurt when one of the nurses pushed on my belly to pop Bronson out. Oh that hurt. Then the pressure stopped and the nurses said that we had quite the ball of a child. 9lbs 12 oz, 21 inches long. Then Bronson screamed and screamed and screamed. Oh how I loved that sound!

I sent Ty over to take pictures and then I tried to move the stupid blue drape to see our child. After doing a quick clean up they strapped him onto my chest. So surreal.

back in recovery making sure we are stable.

our view from the room.....it would be sadly missed when they moved us to mother baby floor. We watched life flight land and unload a patient.

Classic Bronson baby all milk drunk.

Our insanely tiny room that we had to share with another patient for 6 hours. Felt pretty lucky we didn't have to share longer than that!

Ty is such a good Daddy. Bronson is always turning his head when Ty walks into the room talking. He has been such a great support and a huge help. Bronson and I are pretty lucky to have him!

Here we go!

Well folks, the end is here.....YES! I think we are as ready as we will ever be. So strange to think that our wee one's D-Day is tomorrow. 3/23/15 has a nice ring to it right? We are excited, then nervous, then happy, then I am crying. . . normal I hope. Here is to the new adventure in our lives. Our family of 2 is growing into 3. Bring it on:)

Found this idea on pinterest. Take the cards from wedding showers or baby showers, graduations, etc. Then cut 'em up and make a collage. I will probably spray paint the frame. I do like how it turned out. It's fun to remember who gave the card and the messages they left.

Some pics of the babe's room.

Bought the beautiful shelves from Home Depot and love them. We previously bought some for storage and figured they would work for the babe too.  The crib will arrive when my folks do and then the room will be complete.

Here we are at 39 weeks and 2 days.

Sweet cheeks of course wearing his stud muffin shirt. We have been diggin' this March Madness! Love him:)

Spring is in the air!

Spring is here and we are loving it! Took a walk on Sunday and snapped some random pics.

Here is one of the many trail heads up to the foothills. You can't really tell but it is pretty packed with cars. There was a guy unloading his little kids and I didn't want him to think I was being a creeper, so I walked further away before snapping the picture.

At our house we have spring popping up everywhere. Here is a friendly creature of some sort digging at the side of our house. No idea what it is..... slightly creepy.

The pear tree getting its blossoms

Our lovery raspberry plants have some beautiful leaves. Logan and Jenn were nice enough to share with us. Ty and I are real excited about these beauties.

The apricot tree's blossoms. The poor thing about 2-3 weeks ago had lots more with the warm weather and then it plunged into the 30's again. I don't think we are getting as many apricots as we did last year:(

With spring comes babies right? Well this Goob has had us on the edge now for 3 weeks. . . the turkey. Anywho, went to a checkpoint and they showed me how to put in the car seat. Now I am educated and the seat is ready to go.

Car seat is even out in the garage for an easy grab.

Lastly, here I am at 38weeks. Come on out baby!!!!

Winter Wonderland

Crazy, I know,  but we did get a HUGE snowstorm here in the 505. It started Friday morning and that was a total mess. I had to drive to work at 6:00 am and the roads were not cleared and the interstates were even worse! Pure ice and you couldn't see the lines. So very scary to feel the car slide and hoping others were being careful not to hit ya. That night the storm really hit and the next morning was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We received 8 inches, 8 inches!! ABQ was shutdown, literally. Most of the snow melted by that evening and then Sunday it was 64 degrees and of course all the snow was gone.

Ty out shoveling our driveway Friday night. He wanted to make sure we could get out in case Goober wanted to debut that night.

His crazy hair after shoveling. He definitely needs a haircut:)

Saturday morning after the storm passed. This is our picnic table.

The dogless dog house and the fence.

Looking out our front window

8 inches total

Our friends were kind enough to let us put some baby items on their baby registry through amazon and we got 15% off. BOOYA! So Saturday was spent inside putting our last items together for the Goob.

Ty hard at work with one of the strollers.

Our 2 strollers, car seat, 2 bases, and the high chair not shown. All of them were pretty darn easy to put together except for the blasted high chair, but we survived.

Getting ready to head out to church, 36 weeks 2 days.

BE PREPARED!

So Ty and I learned a valuable lesson this week....being prepared for this goober to come. Wednesday at work was pretty rough. Just feeling real tired and sore. I was having lots of contractions and my lower back started hurting. The next day I woke up still contracting and just tired. Well the contraction weren't painful at all, just the tightening feeling and maybe a little crampy, so I didn't think much about it. Ty called from work to see how I was feeling and to see if the contractions were still coming. He asked if I had been timing them and when I said no, he told me that I probably should. Well I was contracting every 6 minutes for a minute or longer. I drank lots of water and laid down but they kept coming. After about an hour or so I texted Ty with the results and at first thought I was just kidding:) Talked with my Dr's nurse and she said that I needed to go to the hospital for triage.... awesome.

We are real excited... can ya tell:)

We have been meaning to put together our hospital bags but just haven't gotten to it yet. So as we waited for the doctor and nurse to come into our little room we wrote down items to put into our bags. Truly an eye opener for us:) Well the results are that I do not have a bladder infection, not yet dilated (which hurt like a banshee), and nothing to do yet. We were discharge with the instructions to come back if the contractions started to hurt, any bleeding, water breakage, closer contractions. We are happy the Goober wants to cook a little bit longer.

Picture at 35 weeks, grow baby grow!!!

Pinewood Derby

Well the Pinewood Derby and Blue and Gold Banquet are done, YES! Being Cub Master hasn't been bad at all, just the monthly pack meetings. The big months are January and February with the Derby and banquet. Lucky for me the other wards and another troop wanted to combine and do the Derby on one Saturday. Done! That meant the other troops were setting up and then we had to take everything down. Hands down would do that again.

Tracks ready to go. We had 10 cub scouts racing and then 6 or so siblings.

Found this idea off of Pinterest. Not too shabby. We also had hot chocolate that the other troops had too much of, darn:)

The cub scouts cars. They did a pretty good job. The trophy's are in the back,

I didn't take any pictures of the Banquet. That one I was running around too much. But our theme was camping. Had hot dogs, beans, potato salad, caprisons, and chips. One leader brought his camping gear and set that up around the gym. 3 boys earned their Arrows of Light and we had some older boys from the ABQ area come and present that to them. It was pretty cool. They were dressed up like Indians with long head dresses on with drums. The scouts seemed to like it. Dessert was smores. I had so much help with the other leaders and Ty that everything worked out great!

Now some pics of the Goob:)
People at work say that they don't notice I am prego until I turn to the side. Hmmmm, you can be the judge. Here I am at 32 weeks.
