Hiking up to the Saddle

Ty and I have been doing lots of hikes lately and they have been wonderful! Seriously! We have taken Bronson on the easy and simple ones but when they look difficult we find a sitter. Those hiking dates have been so much fun. The going out to dinner has become, well lets just say it, blah. It's so nice to get out in the beautiful weather and be active.
On Memorial Day we decided to hike and bring the Piglet with us. We put him in the pack and set off. Now I have to take him on the uphill because I fall all the time on the downhill. Really I do and it's pathetic, weak ankles? I enjoy the workout with him on my back and climbing up. This hike was serious. At many points I had to have Ty push my rumpus to get up a very steep part, due to lots of loose gravel. I will confess I was not the happiest hiker because I was scared of going back down and falling. But we made it! Was able to look over ABQ and then on the other side of the mountain the city of Tierjas. Really a beautiful hike (in between my moments of "this sucks"!)

Almost to the top......

Tierjas is over my left shoulder, didn't get a picture of it, but promise it is there.

City of ABQ

Proof that Bronson came with us. Soon after this picture we started our way back down. I was in front and the boys behind me. As walking Ty asked if he should take some videos of hiking down. I turned around to respond and saw him lose his footing and do a spectacular 10 second save. Good thing Bronson is buckled in, he could have fallen out. We had a pretty good laugh and said no recording. Bronson was a trooper on this hike. On the way down he got into the fits of giggles and lightened the mood and we tried not to fall.

Really enjoyed this hike and would do it again.....without a baby on the back:)

Our May Adventures

May was pretty fun for us. Bronson laying on the thick oober smiles for his pancake dinner.

This beauty right here has saved many lives. Sacrament meeting is a constant battle with this our buddy. He was tired of his toys and books. I have been looking at starting my own quiet book but that hasn't happened yet. Evan Rude and his family were nice enough and sent us their old one. Jenn said the girls were old enough now and didn't need it. Huge thanks to Jenn for sending this down to us. At first the postal lady said it was going to be $20 to ship, whatever we need to pay. But then another postal worker said New Mexico would only cost $8. The other tried to cover her bottom by saying Jenn had said Mexico.....sure lady sure.

At the zoo Bronson decided to play big boy. I was trying to feed him his sandwich and he got ticked that I wouldn't let him hold it. I finally gave in and he did a great job! Used both hands and all.

Went to a park to let the piglet get some much needed energy out. Was walking everywhere until he got to the grass, pulled out his old moves of crawling. Doesn't like how the grass can be uneven.

Sunday hikes up in the Foothills are the best!

I hang my bras up to dry and Bronson decided to turn them into capes. The Stinker somehow got it around his noggin and sported it for quite a while.

Wearing his cape as he empties out the recycling bin.

My mom introduced me to laughing cow cheese, yum yum!!!!! Seriously so good

Bronson takes every opportunity he sees for jumping in blankets.

Taking a break to check out mom's phone.

So this totally happened! I can fit into my wedding dress, BOOYA! Not too shabby huh:)

Dad's play box is a hit right now for Buddy.

This sweet little boy collected some flowers, a prized rock, and a piece of a pine cone for this lucky momma.

Mother's Day

For Mothers Day Ty and I were finally able to hike to the Eye of the Sandias. We have been trying to go since February. Our friends Henry and Jana did a babysitting swap with us and they watched Bronson then later that day we watched Tim for them. We are blessed to have such great friends here in ABQ.
This guy, seriously a billy goat hair and all! He did this hike last year with the 11 year old scouts but was only able to make it half way. There was a blind guy that had to turn around and Ty helped him off the mountain. So this time Ty wanted to make sure he got to see the Eye. We had a 4 mile hike in only a little over 2 hours before Henry and Jana dropped off the boys to us. This trail is straight up the mountain, no joke! I was dying and Ty kept on going. He was very determined to make it!

Good thing I brought the camera, gave me an excuse to stop Ty and get a breather. Also the cactus was in bloom!

After climbing 1700 feet we got to the Eye

The view from the top was Incredible!

We were able to find our house too.

I guess the Mouth of the Sandias?

We both loved this hike and agreed we need to do more of these. Glad we didn't have Bronson with us. The trail was very steep with lots of loose rocks. I fell once and threw my hand into a cactus too, awesome. Ty had a couple of close calls too.

I am oh so blessed to have these boys in my life! This sweet picture was taken at Ty's basketball game. Bronson wanted to sit next to his daddy. He did a great job sitting there and actually held still too.

What would Mothers Day be without Domino's awesome deal of 2 large 2 topping pizza's for $5.99 each. We capitalized and had them Friday AND Saturday.

Love this little buddy of mine that made me a mother!
