WASHINGTON DC Part 2

and so we continue on....

SMITHSONIAN: NATIONAL ARCHIVES
Charles Ingalls land deed

Ty talking to our Ubber guy to get us to church

The really old beautiful church building we went to. Reminded me of the one I grew up in.

mushroom, really big mushroom

ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY

I was very surprised and very pleased that people were actually silent and very respectful. This place to me was very sacred grounds.

We made it just in time for the changing of the gaurd

President JFK's grave

IWO JIMA MONUMENT

THOMAS JEFFERSON MONUMENT
Sorry no inside picture... I was tired/lazy/done:)

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR MONUMENT

WW11 MEMORIAL

precious, Utah and New Mexico are side by side

KOREAN WAR VETERANS MEMORIAL
*my all time favorite hands down*

The pictures really don't do it any justice. The soldiers looked like they were slowly creeping along through enemy lines. You felt like you were there with them.

INTERNATIONAL SPY MUSEUM

pen that turns into a gun

recorder acting as a cigarette holder

coins used for hiding things

Seriously?! Julia Child a spy

FORD'S THEATER

This was incredible. All these books are written about good ole Abe, no duplicates. This tower is as high as 3 flights of stairs. No other person is written about as much as Abe

THE HOLOCAUST MUSEUM

Didn't take many pictures in here. This room is filled with just pictures of individuals and their families from a village that were killed by the Nazi's. Seriously so so sad

The ever burning flame to remember those who had died and for us to never forget

CITY OF ALEXANDRIA
we met up with our friends, the Lings, who lived in ABQ and moved out here almost a year ago

Their son Everette felt left out that we weren't taking any pictures of him

TOUR OF THE CAPITAL
Each state is able to have 2 statues on display at the capital building.
No clue who this is representing NM

This is one of the statues for Utah. The man who invented the television.hmmmm

The outside of the building had just finished with the renovating, now they had moved into the inside. Kind of a bummer

So glad you two were able to enjoy DC. Love all the pics - really liked the towers of books about Abe!
