Catching up with those I love

With Ty doing his new program he has been traveling lots. Sometimes the trips have been a week long and that's a little too much for me. Luckily my mom and Sue have been able to come down and to entertain me and have some fun. Okay fine its true I am a pansy and don't like to be alone. There I said it. . . and yes I feel better:)
Ty had a trip back east and I was able to get work off and to head home. One of the many reasons was to say hi to this very lovely lady, my grandma:) It has been over a year and that's a little too long.

I have always loved my grandma and grandpa Allen's home. We would go there lots to visit and to play on the farm. Lots of good good memories. One is this wall of photo's, it has always been a favorite of mine. While in school it was a hit to bring them our new school pictures to put in their rightful place. Pictures include my grandparents parents, their wedding pciture, picture of their kids and then their grandkiddos. The best part is the wall ran out of room for the great grand kids. So the piano is doing the job. . . so far.

Another goodie here is grandpa's hats. They have always hung right above this doorway leading into the kitchen. Even though he passed away over a year and half ago, I was touched that they are still there and it made me very happy. To me they represent how much of a hard worker he was and how he was good at it too. I love and miss my grandpa Allen so much.

Grandma and mom both love to do puzzles and this room is where they put them together.

Where I slept upstairs:)

Here is their house. My grandpa and his father built this house together and moved in when my mother was a young girl.

My grandma was very excited to show me the new headstone. She picked out the tractor for my grandpa and a sewing machine for her and the color of the granite. She did a lovely job!

The headstone of my great grandparents. I was named after my great grandma Laura Porter.

 And my great great grandparents.

Dinner with mom and Ickles at the new BBQ joint in AF. Highlight: Ickles not getting the blonde jokes on their handouts:) Oh ya the food was good too.

Meeting up with Sue and Jamie at Zupas for lunch. Oh man I love Zupas!!! Then meeting up with Alisa. Had fun with these gals feeding our faces and chatting!

Then catching up with the nieces and nephew!
Kensie and Kalyn

 Addie and Brynlee

Love these two! Bentley and Kennedy

Trying to get Bentley to give me a slow kiss so we could get it on camera

 Cute kids right?!

Yep this is one of those awkward pictures. I look at it and just laugh and then I get disgusted. Hope you enjoy this one

Bentley sporting the big boy underwear. Man these kiddos are growing up way too fast! Glad I was able to see them. For the record, Bentley also got a slurpee but I didn't get a picture. He seemed to like it. Gotta get these kiddos treats so they kind of remember me right?:)

Desert Star Theater was AMAZING! So funny and a great atmosphere.

Sporting the "uh oh I dropped food on my shirt and didn't know for like an hour". Ickles called dibs so he ate it:)

The group at the play.

While shopping with my mom we found this on sale for $5 for my flight home. Loved this book! I would recommend it for reading for sure.

Waiting for Sweet Cheeks to pick me up at ABQ airport:)

It was lots of fun visiting everyone on this trip home. Love them all so very much. But I have to admit I LOVE coming home to Ty:)

Such is life. . .

We have had some pleasant surprises lately, none that we have really wanted to happen. First off ABQ got lots of snow, a whole 3 inches where we live. That is a BIG deal here. Anywho by the end of the day all the snow was gone. Well Ty and I were getting ready for the temple and just about to walk out the door when we saw this. . . right?

Lucky for us we are just renting and called up the land lady to let her know. Sad day for the land lady. . . when we called to let her know about this she was on a plane to NY because her father was dying, oops. We felt bad about putting this on her and all. She told us that it was okay and that her father was 95 years old and had lived a good life. . . ya we still felt bad.

Then that same week I discovered poor poor Bingo in the garage like this on my way out to work. So when Ty moved into this house about 3 years ago he saw how the door, sheet rock, up into the garage was kind of hanging there. He informed the land lady and nothing was done. Well the wind must have caught it just right and it fell down and cracked the windshield. Awesome.

So instead of calling her up again we sent an e-mail letting her know what happened to Bingo. She offered to pay for the whole thing which was way nice. We even offered to pay for half and she said that her insurance would cover it all. She's a nice gal.
So that was our exciting week we hope to not experience again.

Randomness

Alrighty. . . here are some pics I have on my I-pod. Enjoy:)

pics of driving to work during the balloon fiesta. I only tried to take pictures when off the freeway. . . tried.

Our wedding present comforter. Love the colors and the design of the stitching. And yes we do lay on top of the comforter to some dismays:)

So this is how I get around town, still. I take pics on my I-pod and use it as a trusty map. Brilliant I think.

The guest bathroom needed some decor and these are workin' great. They are calendar pics from my family exchange student from Japan. It was a Christmas gift a couple years ago.

This past christmas in Utah at the Forgotten Carols. Aren't my brothers just so cute?:)

Bowling night!

yep another map. . . Confession my I-pod is full of these maps, I am going to spare you the others. . . your're welcome.

French bread in this house is encouraged. We love to dip the bread in olive oil and balsamic vinegar, YUM! we also like to make our own pizza's for dinner.

This is our new favorite game, Ticket to Ride. So much fun. We love to play it with just the two of us and with friends. Although anxiety levels increase with more than two because our space on the boards are taken, go figure right:)

A couple Sundays ago the weather was Beautfiul, low 60's. We went for a walk and then I found Ty here. . . I guess the warm weather means fishing:)

This was a good little dump in ABQ, 3 inches baby!!!

Long hair meet . . .

Short hair

11 inches gone to Locks of Love

Lovin' the new style. . . LOVING IT!!!!
