Mother's Day

For Mothers Day Ty and I were finally able to hike to the Eye of the Sandias. We have been trying to go since February. Our friends Henry and Jana did a babysitting swap with us and they watched Bronson then later that day we watched Tim for them. We are blessed to have such great friends here in ABQ.
This guy, seriously a billy goat hair and all! He did this hike last year with the 11 year old scouts but was only able to make it half way. There was a blind guy that had to turn around and Ty helped him off the mountain. So this time Ty wanted to make sure he got to see the Eye. We had a 4 mile hike in only a little over 2 hours before Henry and Jana dropped off the boys to us. This trail is straight up the mountain, no joke! I was dying and Ty kept on going. He was very determined to make it!

Good thing I brought the camera, gave me an excuse to stop Ty and get a breather. Also the cactus was in bloom!

After climbing 1700 feet we got to the Eye

The view from the top was Incredible!

We were able to find our house too.

I guess the Mouth of the Sandias?

We both loved this hike and agreed we need to do more of these. Glad we didn't have Bronson with us. The trail was very steep with lots of loose rocks. I fell once and threw my hand into a cactus too, awesome. Ty had a couple of close calls too.

I am oh so blessed to have these boys in my life! This sweet picture was taken at Ty's basketball game. Bronson wanted to sit next to his daddy. He did a great job sitting there and actually held still too.

What would Mothers Day be without Domino's awesome deal of 2 large 2 topping pizza's for $5.99 each. We capitalized and had them Friday AND Saturday.

Love this little buddy of mine that made me a mother!

Botanical Gardens and Zoo

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Smith for our Christmas present, we got ourselves a Zoo pass for the year. Bronson and I really enjoy going to the Botanical Gardens, the Aquarium, or the Zoo. Best part we go for an hour or more and then leave. No need to feel obligated to stay longer. We also love going with friends.

Bronson with our friends Rachel and her mom Marcia at the botanical gardens. This is the Japanese Garden.

On another day we met up with Rachel and Marcia at the Zoo for a picnic. Bronson still hates walking on the grass, prefers to do a mean crawl.

The polar bear was really fun to watch. It would grab this bucket and then toss it up at us hitting the plexi glass and spraying us with water. Scared Bronson a little too much so we moved on to the next animals.

Best part of the Zoo hands down, watching the hippos eat.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!!

For reals folks! I had this in my head while working on our garden. I LOVE to garden! I love planting, watching them grow, and then reaping the rewards with the yummy food! Ty and our Hometeacher filled the back of his truck with a mixture of dirt and compost. Then for the next week I moved dirt from the back to the front yard and then moved the compost in. Love spending time outside!

With the dirt from the garden area we were able to fill in on the side of our house. We really needed to do that! Some parts of the side walk were pretty exposed and we were afraid that the cement was going to break and crumble down..... if that makes any sense.

All the garden plots received a healthy portion of compost.

Bronson and I at the store picking up our plants!!!

Look how beautiful!:)

Funny to see the picture of last year when Bronson was in the baby swing as I planted. This year the buddy was on the go as I planted. That is until he ate cement pretty hard with his head, awesome.

All in and done. Best feeling ever. Now for these beauties to grow:)
