October 2020: Cloudcroft trip, outside happenings, snow, and Halloween

October here we come! Celeste's favorite spot in the house by far

We needed a get away from everything and made a trip to Cloudcroft for a 3 day weekend. First we drove down to Alamagordo and stopped in at Can't Stop Smokin'. Ty and I discovered this place on our Honeymoon in Ruidoso. It did not dissapoint, sooooo good!!!!

After getting our tummies full we headed to the Alamagordo Zoo

It was so so so hot! This fox summed up how we all felt.

Once again, it was soooooo hot!

Next stop an Observatory Museum. By the time we got there it had already closed. Still neat to look at the stuff outside.

Notice where she plopped down.... the shade. Clever girl.

Made it to our home away from home in Cloudcroft. Very nice little cabin in the woods. It had some pretty steep stairs and no potties upstairs where the bedrooms were. The morning potty run was hazardous to say the least.

Look out point and you can see White Sands off in the distance. The haze is thanks to all the wildfires burning in California. So sad

Little fishing just outside Cloudcroft. Seriously the scenery is just beautiful and we hit the fall colors at the best time.

Bronson caught a duck, hahaha!

Made our way to a waterfall and did some hiking. Ty and the kids down on the bridge.

What's a hike with no sticks?

Picturesque

Ty kept feeling a poky on his foot. Looky what he discovered! Pretty lucky that didn't puncture his foot.

Canyon Trestle adventure. First we did the lookout and then drove over to do the hike down to it.

The city of Cloudcroft was having an openhouse at the fire station. They gave some loot to the kids and let them explore inside the trucks.

Took a drive on some windy roads and poor buddy got car sick. Had to stop and let him gain his bearings again.

Tried another BBQ place in Cloudcroft, pretty good.

The little cabin we stayed in

Checking out the downtown in Cloudcroft

Off on another hike to watch the sun set.

You could see the Trestle on this hike too

The next day we packed up our things and drove to White Sands. The kids had a blast playing in the soft sand.

It was a little too windy for this girl. I was happy to wait in the car with her while the others went off on a hike

Checking out the new playground at Volterra

Elise let me curl her hair today, so pretty!

I love when the colors change on this tree.

Bronson's drawing during school time

Hitting up the Bike trail on Alameda with friends

First snow of the year!

Once there was a Snowman

Crazy hair mornings

Trying to save their Snowman

Poor Celeste had some of her nail ripped off by the sprinkler pipes.

Happy Halloween from Elsa and the Incredible Hulk

All tuckered out from the ward drive by party

Down at Barbara Worthen's house to show of the kids
