Mom's in town

Ty had to hit the road for 2 weeks in a row, BLAH! My mom is so good and came down the second week to keep me company. It actually worked out really good because staff had to be cut due to low patient status. So me being a team player took some cuts and got to hang out with my mom lots!

We took a hike up the La Luz trail. Starts from the bottom and hikes all the way up to the top of the Sandia's. It is a total of 14 miles round trip. We made it up to 4.5 miles up the trail but it was FREEZING! We forgot to bring our jackets and with the wind and shade. . . it made it quite cold.

The view to where we made it. Really pretty!

Mom kept saying how her hands were swollen and they hurt. I looked at them when we finally got back to the car and couldn't help but laugh. Hahahaha!!!! Her fingers look like sausages:) Poor mom

Made a trip to this loverly place. Since Ty and I had just hit it up I thought my mom might like it. Her she is pulling out the rocks from her sandals.

This leading into the visitor center

The cool turtles in the pond. They all wanted a seat on the logs.

We also did a craft project which included a big world map and modge podge while enjoying The Hobbit:) I am so grateful for my mom and love her so much! Thanks for a great week mom!!!

Le Rio Grande

On a Saturday Ty and I made our way down to the Rio Grande. We both haven't been there before and thought we better hit it up being New Mexicans and all. We were both really surprised at how green and actually pretty it was. The river is really shallow but murky so sweet cheeks couldn't see any fish, which was quite a bummer for him.

Picture of the Sandia's in the back

Right next to the river is A LOT of sand. We guess that when the river is the actual size and not during a severe drought it actually gets higher. . . imagine that right?

 Love my sweet cheeks!

The "forgotten stuffed elephant". Later a couple of teens passed by us and one of the girls was carrying it around. Gross!

I absolutely LOVED these trees. The picture doesn't do it justice at all.

1st Year Anniversary:)

Ty had the great idea to do a bed and breakfast to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. We spent 2 nights up at the Blue Horse B & B and loved it! We would totally and fully recommend it to anyone. The room was awesome, the hosts were great, and the food was delish!

Yep folks the jumping pics are coming back

Even Ty did the jumping pics. . . too bad it got too dark.

Our room with fireplace that was in the room and bathroom, pretty sweet. Good thing its just us in the room. . . you could see through easily at the person on the pot or sitting on the bed. Just sayin':)

Jetted tub!

Playing Yahtzee while watching the sun set. Ty rocked this game, got 2 yahtzee's and scored high on everything else. Ended up in the 400's.

As you can see, sweet cheeks is pretty excited!

So the sunsets in NM are incredible. When people told me this when I first came down here I thought they were stretching it a bit. I can now after a year of being down here agree full heartedly with them. The sunsets are INCREDIBLE! (and its not because there is nothing else down here, jk jk:) So for your enjoyment lots of pics

We had a great time and again would recommend anyone to  stay here! It was fun to celebrate the BIG 1 year! I feel so happy and blessed that Ty and I found each other (through some help from his mother and sister:) and were married in the temple with family and loved ones there to support us. He is the greatest thing that has happened to me. Very compassionate, loving, funny, and caring.  Man I got one HECK of a catch. Love you lots Sweet Cheeks!!!!

Catching up with those I love

With Ty doing his new program he has been traveling lots. Sometimes the trips have been a week long and that's a little too much for me. Luckily my mom and Sue have been able to come down and to entertain me and have some fun. Okay fine its true I am a pansy and don't like to be alone. There I said it. . . and yes I feel better:)
Ty had a trip back east and I was able to get work off and to head home. One of the many reasons was to say hi to this very lovely lady, my grandma:) It has been over a year and that's a little too long.

I have always loved my grandma and grandpa Allen's home. We would go there lots to visit and to play on the farm. Lots of good good memories. One is this wall of photo's, it has always been a favorite of mine. While in school it was a hit to bring them our new school pictures to put in their rightful place. Pictures include my grandparents parents, their wedding pciture, picture of their kids and then their grandkiddos. The best part is the wall ran out of room for the great grand kids. So the piano is doing the job. . . so far.

Another goodie here is grandpa's hats. They have always hung right above this doorway leading into the kitchen. Even though he passed away over a year and half ago, I was touched that they are still there and it made me very happy. To me they represent how much of a hard worker he was and how he was good at it too. I love and miss my grandpa Allen so much.

Grandma and mom both love to do puzzles and this room is where they put them together.

Where I slept upstairs:)

Here is their house. My grandpa and his father built this house together and moved in when my mother was a young girl.

My grandma was very excited to show me the new headstone. She picked out the tractor for my grandpa and a sewing machine for her and the color of the granite. She did a lovely job!

The headstone of my great grandparents. I was named after my great grandma Laura Porter.

 And my great great grandparents.

Dinner with mom and Ickles at the new BBQ joint in AF. Highlight: Ickles not getting the blonde jokes on their handouts:) Oh ya the food was good too.

Meeting up with Sue and Jamie at Zupas for lunch. Oh man I love Zupas!!! Then meeting up with Alisa. Had fun with these gals feeding our faces and chatting!

Then catching up with the nieces and nephew!
Kensie and Kalyn

 Addie and Brynlee

Love these two! Bentley and Kennedy

Trying to get Bentley to give me a slow kiss so we could get it on camera

 Cute kids right?!

Yep this is one of those awkward pictures. I look at it and just laugh and then I get disgusted. Hope you enjoy this one

Bentley sporting the big boy underwear. Man these kiddos are growing up way too fast! Glad I was able to see them. For the record, Bentley also got a slurpee but I didn't get a picture. He seemed to like it. Gotta get these kiddos treats so they kind of remember me right?:)

Desert Star Theater was AMAZING! So funny and a great atmosphere.

Sporting the "uh oh I dropped food on my shirt and didn't know for like an hour". Ickles called dibs so he ate it:)

The group at the play.

While shopping with my mom we found this on sale for $5 for my flight home. Loved this book! I would recommend it for reading for sure.

Waiting for Sweet Cheeks to pick me up at ABQ airport:)

It was lots of fun visiting everyone on this trip home. Love them all so very much. But I have to admit I LOVE coming home to Ty:)
