Fall Trip 2018: Antelope Canyon & Lake Powell Dam

Yep sitting in between the kiddos and our first leg of the trip. I find it easier for me instead of constantly flipping my head back and forth. I get carsick after a while.

Made a stop for Lunch at Burger King on some Indian Reservation in AZ. We have learned to just let the kids loose and they can eat in the car. They were very happy with their play area.
Made it to Antelope Canyon and then took a little van ride to the starting point. Both kids were very happy to get out of their carseats.

I asked who discovered it and our Native American tour guide said "My people" while patting her chest. She explained that her ancestors told her that it was a very sacred place and even she wasn't allowed to go in. I asked why the decided to change that and allow others in. Her response: "Well money speaks louder than words. And our Ancestors are dead". There ya go. Pictures do not do this place justice.

So we started off in one canyon then walked back and headed into another canyon.

They had a pretty good flood a day before and lucky for us we didn't show up then or we would have had to cancel.

Entering the second canyon.

Part of this canyon was blocked off due to the flood.

Onto Page AZ to see Lake Powell and the Dam

They LOVED all the sand at this lookout point.

Yummy BBQ place for Dinner

Good Morning Page AZ! Our view from the hotel.

We love our Continental breakfasts. This boy was super happy with his bowl of cereal.

Now onto the Tour of Glenn Canyon Dam. We let the kids run around the visitor center, which was really nice. Ty is good to stop in and sometimes has to drag us in, but it always turns out good.

Starting our tour and took an elevator ride down, way down.

On the dam itself.

Lake Powell

Dang he is good at a creeper face, well done!

Inside the dam.

Now at the base

The visitor center you can see peeking over the ledge there.

Walking over the bridge before heading out.

Overlook of Lake Powell

Now onto Zion's National Park and Grandma Sue and Papa Smith!
